Holding you in my arms
is not like pondering Wittgenstein's Tractatus
yet memory makes all the difference.
An icon, you both worship and study
the pulse missing in a stuffed bird
beats within a Mosaic bush
that burns but is not consumed.
Was existence prior to essence?
Did Sartre live before Descartes?
Your lovely lips don't care to form such questions
yet offer all answers.
Essence, existence are one
your lips say.
