As stars crouching in a summer sky
beam an eerie light on each earthly coat
drifting bands of vagabond cats coalesce
down in a ravine for a hunting orgy.
What nocturnal quarry do they fancy?
Are they after bunnies , deer mice, voles,
perchance . . . a creepy snake, or other feelers
without limbs who hug the belly of our earth
In any case, the boys are stepping out tonight.
> The Fun King invites his monsters to a garden party
to be held inside a head that houses a brain
with no fixed address; but not to worry
dress is optional, so you can be your joyful selves
and yes, bring a friend, or two — you can eat . . .
