J. Hugh MacDonald was born in Charlottetown, PEI, on July 24, 1945, and graduated from St.Dunstan's University in 1968. His father was a story teller and his mother a closet poet. He teaches English and writing in Souris, PEI, and dabbles in many literary forms but has a special love for poetry which he has been writing since childhood. He presently lives with his wife, Sandra, and his six children (5 boys and 1 girl) and lives on the Montague River in eastern PEI.
